Amboseli National park
During the extended game drives in the morning and afternoon you look out for photogenic scenes.
Amboseli is famous for the many elephants with Mount Kilimanjaro in the back ground. But it is also home to buffaloes, zebras, spotted hyenas, wildebeest, bat-eared foxes, black-backed and golden jackals, reed bucks and many birds.

Early morning just after the entrance to the park you might find a clear Kilimanjaro with elephants under the beautiful umbrella thorn acacias.

Amboseli – Naivasha
An early departure since it is quite a long stretch passing Nairobi and the rim of the Great Rift Valley where you stop to see the volcanoes Longonot and Suswa. You will arrive at Elsamere, the former house of George and Joy Adamson with the lioness Elsa for late lunch. Thereafter, on a 2 hour boat ride hippos and many water birds are an attraction on their own. Black and white colobus monkeys have their territories in the compound at Elsamere and also Sopa Lodge. They are just amazing!
Later in the afternoon you drive to Sopa Lodge and take a stroll in the large compound where waterbucks, giraffes, zebras and many birds can be found.

Masai Mara National Reserve
The grassland in-between the rolling hills is home to lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, spotted hyenas, large herds of buffaloes and of course the migrating wildebeests and zebras.
Where many herbivores are, the predators can’t be far and you might be lucky to witness a hunt or at least feasting them on a kill while vultures are waiting or fighting for left overs.
The highlight is for sure the 2 millions of wildebeests and hundred thousands of zebras roaming the region. On their way to fresh pastor they have to cross the Mara River where crocodiles are waiting and hippos defending their territories in the water. Once a herd approaches the river you wait patiently and hopefully you can watch them crossing. A spectacle you won’t forget.

You will be out for full day excursions with picnic lunch but also if you like early morning game drive with breakfast in the bush, lunch in the camp and later in the evening another game drive. We are flexible in planning the day.
